CHCA offering free web/eNewsletter ad space for residents

A few residents have recommended that we allow posting of service ads or classifieds for residents on the website and in the eNewsletter. Examples of services that might be offered included yard work, house-sitting, baby-sitting, and piano lessons. At this point we are not offering ads for businesses. We will review the ads for appropriateness and check that an advertiser's address is within our boundaries. Beyond that, we cannot accept any liabilities for inaccuracies there may be in the ads or dissatisfaction a client may have with the services rendered. Logged in users, however, will be able to add comments below the ad. We have created a mockup of an ad here.

Scoop your poop

A topical message from State Rep. Stephanie Stuckey Benfield.

Need ideas to educate dog owners re. dog waste

Residents have increasingly complained to us that dog poop or poop bags are showing up on their property, in their trash or recycling bins, or in the streets where it gets washed into local creeks. County ordinances (Sec. 5-2, 22-74) require that owners not leave the excrement or poop bags on private property, on the street or in storm drains. Violators can be reported to the county but we also invite people to submit their suggestions on how to educate or persuade people to pick up after their dogs. In particular, we solicit ideas for signs that people could post on their property.
