Coyote sighting Desmond/Park Lane/Ira Melton park

Coyote sighting early this morning/ Ron Shear: At around 5 am Sunday January 18, an adult coyote ran across Desmond Drive in front of me as I was coming home. It came trotting down Park Lane, across Desmond Drive and into Ira Melton park. It was definitely a Coyote, with bushy tail and ratty fur. I posted a couple warning signs near the area to warn dog owners to be careful letting their a dog run loose in the woods.

Ira B Melton Planting Day 4/12/14 thanks and photos

From organizer Valerie Boss: "This Saturday we put in almost 100 native plants at Ira B Melton Park. If you didn't make it to the workday, go over and take a look! The plants are near the trailhead just below the sidewalk and a little way down the gravel trail. Many thanks to the enthusiastic workers who showed up to plant, haul, mulch, dig, and water. A special shout out to those crazy few who opted to pull some stubborn stumps that got in the way."  Photos from Marianne Skeen via Flickr.
