Inspired by Oak Grove and Leafmore’s efforts, we want to have an official Clairmont Heights Trash Guys Appreciation Days. We all appreciate our trash crew and know that so many of us give little Holiday treats for the crew, but this year we’d like to have it be a little more concentrated so that we make their day really special.

Tom Scott Memorial Garden Fundraiser

Stephanie Stuckey Benfield: The State of Georgia, DeKalb County, and the Tom Scott Family are collaborating to develop a small garden in Tom's name at the corner of Memorial Drive and Northern Avenue.  To help fund the completion and ongoing maintenance of the Tom Scott Memorial Garden, you are invited to a fundraiser at Parker's on Ponce in Decatur for light appetizers and a cash bar.

From a neighbor: I’m a property owner in the Heritage Hollow/Meadowcliff neighborhoods but also belong to a long time big band orchestra from the Atlanta area....the Sentimental Journey Orchestra.  We have a Big Band Holiday Dance that will take place on Sat. December 11th at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church fellowship halls. Would you be so kind as to put us on the calendar of events or social events in your website in order to alert the ballroom & swing dancers in your midst!

Via Civic Association Network: AARP Tax-Aide, the nation's largest free volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service, is seeking volunteers to provide tax assistance.  Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome; you do not need to be an AARP member or retiree to volunteer. If you've ever done your own taxes, and are comfortable with a computer, you'd be a good candidate.
