The Village–to–Village Concept for Aging-in-Place

From CHCA and MANA board members who attended recent presentations.  MANA and CHCA neighbors are exploring the opportunity to develop an Aging in Place Village. Karl Williams from DeKalb’s Office of Senior Affairs spoke at an October 26 neighborhood meeting to introduce the concept and determine interest within the community. The county is offering grant money to "seed" the project.

Halloween chez MANA

MANA tells us their annual festivities start this year at ICS (Medlock) starting at 6:30 pm. There is no defined route for trick-or-treating this year, so folks will spread out on their own from there.

(Decatur Emergency Assistance Ministry), a non-profit organization that provides emergency assistance for local residents to prevent homelessness and hunger. The youth group at North Decatur Presbyterian Church will be trick or treating for non-perishable items in the Medlock neighborhood this Sunday, October 28th between 7:00-8:00 PM

MANA Pool Party

From the Medlock Area Neighborhood Association:  Join your neighbors for our annual Neighborhood Pool Party and Pot Luck! MANA has rented out the Medlock Pool for the evening and will be providing free beverages, King of Pops popsicles, music, and yard games for the whole family.  Bring a side item to share and whatever you'd like to grill-we'll have 2 grills hot and ready! Blankets or folding chairs are a great idea, just setup in the grassy area in front of the pool building.
