Watch alert: yard equipment theft at Willivee/Scott Circle 10/8/14

From Dawn Forman via the Laurel Ridge neighborhood group : Two to three guys in a late 90s-early 2000s red Chevy Blazer just stole a bunch of yard equipment from a neighbor in Medlock. Two guys in the truck, one who ran out to steal the equipment. One of them had long hair, like braids or dreads. The guys looked lanky, like teenagers, but neighbor didn't get a very clear look.  WHILE HE WAS HOME. Location was Willivee and Scott Circle. Please be on the lookout. It's a bright red blazer with two african american males in it.

Neighborhood Watch Alert: youth scammers, knife-wielding man

Dekalb County Police put out the following Scam Alert: In recent weeks we have received calls about young black males going door to door claiming to sell items to raise money for the Tucker High School football team. One time they were in the neighborhood during school hours The school was called and they knew nothing about a fund raising effort for the team. Today on nextdoor.com there was an alert from the Laurel Ridge neighborhood about the same group (Although we can not confirm this). Please do not open your door to these young men but let them know you are home. Do not give them money. CALL 911 and report them.  2. Early this morning (5am) in the Medlock Park neighborhood, a knife wielding man slashed car seats in unlocked cars, decapitated a stuffed animal, slashed a computer screen in a car's dashboard, and did other damage. He is most likely not a stable individual. Please call 911 immediately and allow the police to come and detain him. 

Attempted child abductions 9/6/14

From nearby Leafmore neighborhood (Leafmore Security Patrol <leafmore@leafmoresecuritypatrol.org>) 9/6/14: Neighbors,  Our off-duty officers informed me this afternoon that there was another attempted child abduction in our neighborhood yesterday at approximately 4:20PM near the intersection of Vista Leaf and Wood Leaf.  Both the detectives assigned to the case and our officers are working feverishly in an effort to track down the suspect who has been described by the victim (a 10 year old white male) as a black male with green eyes.  The suspect was driving an older model red Ford Bronco with a black stripe and tinted windows.  The county has put out an APB for this vehicle.
