Hospital, Housing Plans Revised By Michelle Ye Hee Lee Posted: 03/28/2008 The Clairmont Campus will no longer be considered as the new location of Emory’s Clifton Road medical facilities under the Campus Master Plan, University officials announced Thursday. Emory officials announced their proposal to switch Emory’s hospitals and clinics on Clifton Road with the Clairmont Campus last November. But detailed analysis has shown that the Clairmont Campus is not a viable site for relocation, Vice President for Communications Ron Sauder said.

Use 311

DeKalb County has turned on the 311 assistance number. This is for any non-emergency county service. Residents have used it to request pickup of debris along roads, to report potholes/washouts and more. Of course, if you see a crime in progress etc. still call 911. A resident used the 311 number last week to setup a date for the police to install one of their radar speed signs on North Superior this coming week. We will use the data to determine the need for further enforcement efforts.

Barking dogs are a nuisance

Please be respectful of your neighbors right to peace and quiet. While your barking dog may not bother you, others often do not feel the same. This is particularly true if your neighbor is attempting to enjoy peace and quiet in their own backyard. Under DeKalb County Code (Chapter 5, Section 2 part D), dog owners can be cited, fined, and or brought to court for disturbance of the peace and/or other violations if they allow their dog to bark uncontrolled. Animal Control is available at (404) 294-2996.

Trash at the right time in the right container

Recently, residents' trash has been scattered about because it is brought to the curb too early and in inappropriate containers. Residents are reminded that DeKalb County Code states that trash cans, recycling and yard waste bags are not to be set out until the night before their collection day. Trash is to be placed in a container with a sealed lid. Please set your trash can, recycling container, and yard waste in your yard at the curb and not in the street. Please do your part to keep our neighborhood clean. Household trash is picked-up by the county on Tuesday and Friday of each week.
