CHCA Membership Elects New Officers at Annual Meeting
CHCA held its Annual General Membership Meeting on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. The agenda of the meeting can be found in the "Mtg Agenda" attachment. Members also had the opportunity to hear brief activity summaries and ask questions of guest State Senator Elena Parent, DeKalb Commissioner Jeff Rader, and Together in Atlanta Co-Chair Anne Wallace. Members elected the following officers for 2015:
Michael Dowling, president
Pete Rumsey, vice-president
Hal Bailey, treasurer
Julia Byrne, corresponding secretary
Nancy Moore, recording secretary
New officer Hal Bailey has lived in the Heritage Hills portion of Clairmont Heights for many years and is a lawyer representing railroad trade union affairs.
The CHCA board also announced the appointment of new co-chairs for the Transportation and Public Safety Committee ("Traffic") Meck Stockton and David Slagle, both of whom live on North Superior. Meck is Director of Business Development for CISCO and is a well-known fixture at Druid Hills High School as current president of the Athletic Association. David is the founding minister of Veritas Church and has recently provided valuable video footage of dangerous driving behaviors commonly witnessed at the intersection of North Decatur and North Superior. Following the recent accident involving a cement truck at this intersection, several residents leaped into action to work for roadway improvements, an effort spearheaded by committee member Dave Moore.
A copy of the PowerPoint presentation that accompanied various reports can be found in the "Meeting Presentation" attachment.
