Discouraging after-hours use of CSNP

From Chris Beck, president: Dear Supporters of Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve, As you may be aware, we sometimes have problems with teens using the Nature Preserve after dusk, especially after school lets out.  Druid Hills High graduates on Friday and Decatur High on the following Friday.  The Board of the Preserve is trying to make a concerted effort to discourage this, as it has led to trash and graffiti in the Preserve.  The Board will be going by the Preserve on a regular basis and recording the license plate numbers of cars parked outside the Preserve after hours and putting a sign on their windshields to inform them that their license numbers have been recorded.  Also, the Board will be calling DeKalb County Police to report any vehicles with people in them as suspicious vehicles.  We are NOT asking people to go into the Preserve to directly confront anyone.

We are hoping to enlist the support of our regular volunteers and community members in this effort.  I have attached the signs that we will be using and signs will also be available at the kiosk at the Preserve.  If you happen to be by the Preserve after dusk and see a car parked out front, please record the license plate number and it email to me at information@cshepherdpreserve.org, and place a sign on its windshield. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Chris Beck
