About Clairmont Heights

Clairmont Heights

The Clairmont Heights Neighborhood is located in unincorporated Central DeKalb County, near Emory University, the Veteran's Administration and Downtown Decatur. Our borders are roughly defined as Clairmont Road (West), Mason Mill Park and Willivee Place (North), Medlock Park and Willivee Drive (East) and N Decatur Road (South). We are a short distance from great shopping, dining, educational, sports, cultural, medical and other facilities.

Home Styles

The neighborhood was primarily developed in the 1950s. The housing stock is consistent with many Atlanta area and DeKalb County communities build during this period and features various traditional home styles, including Brick Ranches, Post-War Cottages and Garden Apartments. More recent additions have included Multi-Story Clusters, Townhouses, Condominiums and Apartment Communities.

Amenities

Not far from our doorstep is Medlock Park, with a swimming pool and baseball fields. Mason Mill Park, to our North, features hiking trails and a tennis center. The South Peachtree Creek Nature Preserve to our East also features hiking trails and sponsors community events.

Our established neighborhood is an ideal example of the "Atlanta Urban Forest" with a lush tree canopy of majestic native hardwoods, evergreens and other varieties.

Schools

Our neighborhood DeKalb County school districts include Fernbank Elementary (eastern boundary up to and including N. Superior) and Medlock Elementary (western boundary from and including Willivee Dr), Shamrock Middle and Druid Hills High.
